Berry pie bars



 






Is time again of Secret Recipe Club and my assignment was  Life's Simple Measures a really lovely blog  and was hard  think what recipe make, 
Jess has many good recipes, finally I chose these Berry Pie bars and was so good!!

Secret Recipe Club





Ingredients
 
Crust and Topping
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4  cup unsalted butter chilled
 
Filling}
2 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream or greek yogurt
3/8 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. almond extract
500 grams blueberries or berries (fresh or frozen)
 
 
Method
 
Heat oven to 180 °c (350°F).
Grease and 8x8 inch pan with non stick cooking spray, set aside
For the crust:
Combine the flour,sugar and salt in a food processor.
Cut the butter into 1/2 inch pieces and add to flour mixture. Process  until the butter is evenly distributed but the mixture is still crumbly.
Reserve 1 - 1/2 cups of the mixture for the topping, set aside. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
For the filling, whisk eggs in a large bowl, then add the sugar, sour cream or greek yogurt, flour and almond extract.
Gently fold in berries. Spoon the filling over the crust and sprinkle the reserved topping mixture evenly over the filling.
 
Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until top turns Golden Brown.
 Cool 1 hour before cutting and serving or serve out of pan cobbler style.

  2. Ooo, a pie in the form of a bar , genius! :-) perfect for those days I don't want to roll out and mess with homemade pie crust. But it still resembles all of the pie flavors in this bar. Good SRC choice :-)

    1. About your question I think is better use fruits, you can use frozen or fresh (because you mix all the cream with berries) or maybe use other fruits is like our kuchens we make, maybe pears, or apples, let me know how you make!

    1. Gracias Pamela, el postre con guayaba es delcioso te lo recomiendo!
      Tuve cualquier trabajo y me ví apurada de cumplir con todo lo que pasa es que el Secret
      Recipe Club tiene su fecha para cada grupo y es tremendamente estricto, debes postear a tal hora, por suerte que es una vez al mes.
      Ya no estoy para andar corriendo ja!
      Vinieron mi papá y mi mamá pero lo pasamos muy bien con ellos recién hoy día se fueron a su casa.

      Always I freeze berries because with the hot time I cant have fresh in fridge!

    Acabo de hacer esta receta y recien lo saqué del horno y estoy que me derrito de las ganas de comerme un trocito pero voy a seguir las instruciones y esperare una hora.
    Nunca antes habia hecho una receta asi y se ve genial y deliciosa.Yo lo hice con moras congeladas.
