She ha s many recipes savoy and sweet but I made two desserts by the simple reason I have all the ingredientes, I find the two recipes simple and delicious. But I hope to try other recipes of her in future.

1 cup of rava (cream of wheat/semolina/farina) (I used semolina2 tablespoon of ghee/butter

2 tablespoon of ghee/butter

1 cup water

1 cup milk

3 tablespoon of sugar (or to taste)

1/2 cup chopped mix nuts (almonds, pistachios, walnuts)

2 tablespoon raisins

1 teaspoon of cardamom powder

(Im in love of cardamom I use in many things)

few strands saffron (optional I dont used)

Heat the ghee or butter in a saucepan and saute the rava (semolina) till it is toasty and fragant.

Meanwhile, heat the water and milk together still is simmering.

(add the saffron strands,if using)

Add the sugar to the toasted rava and stir together.

Add the nuts and raisins and saute for a minute more.

Pour in rthe hot water/milk carefully (will be bubble vigorously) and stir constantly for several minutes till the pudding is thick and creamy.

Stir in the cardamom.Serve warm and topped with ripe banana slices, if desired (I dont have any)

Is a lovely dessert and so yummy.

  3. Dear Gloria,
I do not have any cardamom. Is there another spice that I can substitute for it? To tell the truth, I taught cooking for 10 years but I am not familiar with cardamom. If you have time, please make a comment on my blog and tell me about it.

Thanks and have a great day.

By the way, I was adopted like your twins. It is a blessing to be loved enough that someone adopts you. Your twins are lucky to have you for a mom.

  4. Oh Granny (blushing me ) you are really nice I love the twins IS ALL DEAR! I love the first time I saw a ecography picture (ecografìa)and they have about 5 months of gestation in her biologic Mom (never said this before Granny)

  7. Mmmm, this looks tasty. I remember my mom always made cream of wheat on cold winter mornings - if she had made it like this, then I would have eaten it without complaint! Nice job, Gloria.
