Polenta bread with thyme and lemon peel








I made this Polenta Bread specially to Festa Italiana hostess by Marie of http://prouditaliancook.blogspot.com/ and Maryann of http://findingladolcevita.blogspot.com/ .



I love Polenta and last months I made quiches and others and I find this Polenta Bread that was a nice and tasty surprise. I hope all of you enjoy too.







Ingredients



1 cup (240 grs.) of whole wheat flour



3/4 cup (200 grs.) of polenta



3 teaspoon of baking powder



2 teaspoon of fresh thyme chopped



40 grs. of parmensan cheese grated



1 teaspoon of grated lemon peel



200 ml of milk



1/4 teaspoon of salt



1/2 cup of corn oil



3 eggs



Some fresh thyme to garnish



1 baking mold 11x 21 cm aprox.METHOD



1. In a bowlk mix the whole wheat flour,polenta and baking powder. Add the parmesan cheese grated, the thyme, the lemon peel, salt and mix well.



2. In other bowl, mix the milk,oil and eggs, beat well. Add this mix to dry ingredients and stir well.



3. Empty the the dough in a mold of 11 x 21 cm (4 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch) Greased with light butter. Place the dough spread and over it place some fresh thyme,



Baking by 45 minutes or until is dry when you try with a bamboo skewer.



Lest rest by 5 minutes.



Desmold and serve warm.



Is good to spaguettis, or with spread butter or as you like.





EN ESPAÑOL



Pan de polenta con tomillo y limón



Este pan de polenta lo he hecho especialmente para FESTA ITALIANA que es un evento que organizan Marie de Proud Italian Cook and Maryann de Finding la Dolce Vitta.



Ingredientes



1 taza de harina integral (240 grs.)



3/4 taza de polenta



3 cucharaditas de polvos de hornear



40 grs. de queso rallado parmesano



2 cucharaditas de tomillo fresco picado



1 cucharadita de ralladura de cáscara de limón



200 ml de leche



1/2 taza de aceite de maiz u otro



3 huevos ligeramente batidos



3 ramitas de tomillo fresco



1/4 cucharadita de sal fina



1 molde alargado de 11 x 21 cm-. aprox.



1. Tamizar juntos la harina,polenta,polvos de hornear,sal. Agregar el queso rallado parmesano,el tomillo, la ralladura de limón,y mexclar y unir bien.



2. Colocar en un bol la leche,el aceite y los huevos y batir para integrar.Incorporar el batido a los ingredientes secos, revolviendo, mezclar bien.



3.Volcar la mezcla en un molde alargado ligeramente engrasado con mantequilla.



Alisar la superficie con una espátula y colocar ramitas de tomillo fresco sobre la masa.



Hornear por 45 minutos o hasta que esté el centro seco, probar con un palito de bamboo o palillo, dejar reposar unos 5 minutos. Servir tibio.



Se puede servir, con ensaladas o spaguetti, o con mantequilla cortado en tajadas.

gloria una pregunta...como ahces apra saber los nombres exactos de los ingredientes en ingles? me encanta leer la receta en espanol, pero para comprar los ingredientes en el supermercado leo la lista que dejas en ingles y asi aseguro no equivocarme! que practico me resulta!

Hola Soleil, pues les encantaría este pan y es suuper facil, pero dejalo para más adelante ahora hablemos de los del aniversario, te dejaré la lista en tu blog te parece? a la tarde te la hago y tú eliges mi niña, mira para los ingredientes he ido aprendiendo con el tiempo (creo que me ayuda que siempre voy a blogs de habla inglesa) pero cuando tengo una duda busco alguna receta ya sea en geoogle o en Wikipedia y con el ingrediente que no sé y en el fondo hago como una investigación. je!! pero uno va aprendiendo todo, me alegro que te sirva leer en mi blog los ingredientes. muchos cariños, Gloria

Dear Lura, look again the recipe, I place a picture polenta to you and all that asked me. The polenta is a type of cornmeal (so italian) that you may find at the supermarket in organic products or with the flours, here is in the flours, but in other places is with the cus cus or sesame seeds etc. Laura You may ask by polenta at the Supermarket. Nunca he probado la polenta y no se si nos gustará, aunque la verdad es que tiene muy buena pinta, lo mismo la compro y la probamos...

Mar, es delciosa y a los niños les encanta. Mira el pan a mi me encantó además lleva poca polenta porque también lleva harina integral, mi niña espero quetú marido esté bien de su brazo, Besooss Gloria
