Berries Ice cream (..and some history)

Some  of you (that know me more time) know how I love make Ice cream at home, all these years Im blogging and made my Ice cream to antique type, freeze and beat and freeze again  but always wanna have a Ice cream maker , finally I can buy a and Im really happy.
When I made my Ice cream before always I feel nice, but with this machine change the texture is more smoth and fast, anyway if you want more hard place the bowl more time in the freezer and is all, absolutely nice.
Im happy this is my first Ice cream in a Ice cream maker.
Berries and yogurt Ice cream, a mix of  raspberries and blueberries. Especially for you!

Ingredients

1cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
3/4 cup of sugar or splenda
2 cups (about 350 grs.) plain yogurt
1/2 cup of heavy cream

METHOD

In a blender or other grind the blueberries, raspberries, yogurt , lemon and sugar mix well.
Stir in the heavy cream until completely incorporated.
Process the ice cream in your Ice Cream maker acording to manufacturers instructions (usually about 25 minutes)
Serve immediately (it will be soft) or let it firm up a bit for more freezing.( by 1 hour more)

If you dont have  an Ice cream maker, place the mix in a large metal dish and freeze about 2 hours, and then beat and freeze again by 1 hour more.
When you serve the Ice cream you can add some blueberries and mix.

  65. so delicious looking, a feast fer the eyes, at least:)
the soup kitchen i work at and the community i live in part-time are getting a ton of greek yogurt. i heard on a news radio show that ben and jerry's ice cream, which comes out with new flavors all the time, has a good pulse on what's hot. and that's why they came out with a greek yogurt flavor last year. so there's overflow occasionally, unlike milk, which has no overflow anymore since stores have cut back.

    ReplyDelete

    1. ah Ed always enjoyed your comments (lol) Im glad you have greek yogurt, anyway when I havent I use a simple plain yogurt but the better that I find, this was really delicious but I have to say the Cardamom and pistachios Ice cream was delicious too:)
