Pear & blackberry crumble

Love make crumbles specially with berries and this have pears and blackberries, a nice mix,
You can eat at breakfast or like dessert, I made these with sucralosa so dont have problems to these people can't eat sugar, many desserts today are cooked or baking with sucralosa or Splenda.
Or you can use sugar of course.

This recipe is adapted from BBC Good Food recipes from England.

Ingredients

4  ripe English pears , peeled and cubed
70 grs. sucralosa or splenda (or 100 grs. sugar)
250g blackberries
200g plain flour
100g unsalted butter , cold, cut into small pieces
100g demerara sugar  or 70 grs. splenda

Method

Heat oven to 190C/
Place the pears in a medium-size pan, add 70 grs. splenda or the   sugar and cook on a medium heat until the fruit starts to soften and releases its juices, about 10 mins.
Add the blackberries and bring back to the boil, then remove from the heat. Spoon the fruity mixture into 4 individual ovenproof ramekins, or 1 large baking dish.

Place the flour, butter and a pinch of salt in a large bowl and rub together with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add  sugar, then stir to combine.

Sprinkle crumble evenly over the cooked fruit. This can be done up to 1 day ahead, or frozen for up to 1 month. Bake for 20-25 mins if small, 40 mins if large, until golden. If baking from frozen, add 15 mins cooking time. Remove from the oven, cool slightly, then serve with ice cream, if you like.

  50. Thanks for replying! We have strawberries, raspberries and blueberries too..but no black berries. I think black berries are the prettiest! I'd love to taste them one day..

Also, about the fondant. I buy mine from the local grocery store and cake stores too. But you can also make it at home (which I think takes some practice and some work). You can find a recipe via Google. Or there is one here http://candy.about.com/od/fondantcandyrecipes/r/basic_fondant.htm

    Good luck!
Ps. If you still want to make the snowmen, but can't find fondant..try using royal icing and maybe marshmallow as the snowman head.
